ELEVEN + TWELVE Months

Oh time, an ugly beast it can be. Another two months have passed and here I am writing about Finn's 11th and 12th month! Baby boy is officially a one-year-old and not so much my little baby anymore. I swear to you he woke up on his 1st birthday looking like he was ready to start preschool. Anyway, I still go back and look through this thing at how much he changed each month (I am SO happy I decided to start this blog and document our ham), so I want to finish out with going through the whole year with him! From here on out format will look a little different as I won't be doing "month to months;" rather, weekend adventures, fun new things he's trying, etc.

 

 At ELEVEN months 

Developmental Milestones:

Took his first unassisted steps.

Points, waves, and says "hello, momma, daddy, kitty kitty, and ohhhh."

Began weaning from breastfeeding. :(

Favorite Foods: Mac n' cheese and ANY fruit he can get his hands on.

Weight: 23.6 lbs.

Height: 29 3/4

Play: We had a sneak peak of warm weather this month so boyfriend was loving being outside and helping momma garden! He thinks it's hilarious to be chased after and anticipates being "captured" in the cutest way. Has upgraded from wanting to carry around the breast pump hose, to now a spatula. Loves "reading" books and also eating them; and loves to be worn in a baby carrier.

Sleep: Sleep has gotten better again. We're back to only one time per night (and usually it's 4am after being put to sleep at 8:30) and I'll take that!
 

Size: 4 diapers. 18-24 month clothes.

 

 

What Momma Loves:

Your cheesy grin.

Night time routine of baby massage, jammies, book, and rocking.

How excited you get outside.

How excited you get when daddy walks in the room.

Your curiosity about everything.

 

 

Quirks:

 Still air humps all day everyday.

When giving a kiss he opens his mouth wide open and leans his head toward yours.

Will take remote and immediately point it towards the television.

Run/crawls in circles over and over again in his room.

 At TWELVE months

 

Developmental Milestones:

 Six teeth and a seventh coming through on the bottom! 

Walks like a champ.

Follows commands on his favorite t.v. shows.

Officially weaned from breastfeeding. SOB SOB SOBBING. :( :(

 

Favorite Foods: Strawberries, blueberries, noodles, and bananas.

Weight: 24 lbs.

Height: 29 3/4

 

Play: Loves being outside over anything. Loves riding in his new cozy coupe truck; playing in his teepee outside, picking grass (or anything in it), crawling all over mom and dad when we're laying down, playing with his hose, reading books, and watching Minions.
 

Sleep: Sleep continuing to get better! Sometimes all the way through the night, other times wakes up once.

Size: 18-24 months

 

What Momma Loves:
 

 Your open-mouth/biting, forehead kisses. That you've been getting more and more snuggly everyday. Your squeaky little voice. EVERYTHING.

 

 

Quirks:

 Always has his finger in his belly-button. Lifts his arms above his head whenever "blast-off" is on in Little Einsteins.

Screeches terribly loud, when we say NO sternly to him he'll wait a good 5 seconds then whine in the most hilarious way.

Snorts and breathes heavily when excited.

ALWAYS has something in his mouth, like a shoe. haha

Gets excited over loud noise and whines when turned off (vacuum, boat, lawn mower).

This has without a doubt been the BEST year of our lives. Thank you for being our bubba, Finn Aloysius. <3
